Child Sponsorship
That means for you...
a godchild
a pen pal
1$ per day
you are a bearer of hope

We say thank you!
Would you like to set up a sponsorship and give children hope? On this page you can look around and easily register for a sponsorship. This will make you a very practical part of our project "Kidron Valley Ministries". Each of these children lives in the children's home in Uganda and gets something to eat, fresh clothes and a home every day. Unfortunately, this project could not exist without donations!

You can start now by choosing a child, building a relationship (via a pen pal) and supporting the project with 30$ per month. Your advantage is that I will live here for a while and work closely with your godchild. So I can send you photos of him/her, for example, and you know exactly what kind of environment your godfather is growing up in.
How long does a sponsorship last and what exactly is expected of you as a sponsor? look below more info about it.
30$ is too much for you?
But you would still like to set up a sponsorship? No problem! In such a case, it is a great idea to find a friend and split the amount.

Of course, you also have the option of supporting the project with a one-time or regular donation, independently of the child sponsorship. Send me an amount via PayPal or bank transfer ( contact ) with the reference "Donation KIVAM".

More Information about a Sponsorship:
Duration of the Sponsorship
The sponsorship lasts until the child is 18 years old. At this age the children usually leave the children's home. In individual cases, a child stays there longer (e.g. due to a physical/mental disability). In this case you can decide to continue the sponsorship or to end it.

Regular Contact
Another part of the sponsorship is regular contact through letters, which should be written by both sides every few months. With the smaller children, the letters are of course written with the help of the carers.
After we are no longer here in Uganda as volunteers, our follow-up volunteers and a local employee will ensure that regular contact continues.
It is up to you whether you would like to send a gift (e.g. for Christmas). However, you should be aware that the gift is not only for your child, otherwise inequalities would arise. Your gift (eg toys, clothes, painting materials, etc.) will be available for all orphans.
Costs & Transfer
As a sponsor, you also agree to donate €30 a month to the project. It is important to know that the money is not only invested in your godchild. As a result, one child would be significantly more privileged than everyone else. For this reason, the money is used to pay the carers, buy food for the children in the orphanage and give them a good home. This gives you the opportunity to support and encourage more than just one child with your money!
We (Betty and Micha) think it's great that you want to invest this money in the project. For this reason we add an additional 10% of our personal money to all amounts that are transferred (at least for the year in Uganda).

Are you unsure whether you would like to take on a sponsorship or do you have further questions? Then feel free to contact me and we can discuss the whole thing again in a one-to-one conversation.
